MORTON midfielder Cameron Blues has warned his side not to be caught cold by an Arbroath side unburdened by their fate already being sealed.

Ton will travel to meet a League 1-bound Angus side on Saturday, after their relegation from the second tier was confirmed last weekend.

Blues is wary of the hosts' pressure-free situation and has warned that a second win for Ton at Gayfield this term is by no means guaranteed.

He told the Tele: "It's a big game for us this weekend and we need to try and put on a good performance as well as get back to winning ways.

"It would help us in the league and for me personally, I'd like to do as well as we can in these final three games and finish as high as possible.

"Arbroath obviously got relegated last weekend but they'll still be playing for pride.

"They will be looking to try and win the game, we know how tough it'll be.

"It's a bit of a cliche but once a team's been confirmed as relegated the pressure lifts off them and they can go out and do well afterwards.

"We don't want to be on the wrong end of that at all. Arbroath will be hurting after the season they've had. I still think they're a pretty good side, who are tough to play against.

"They'll be looking to start that game well, as will we. We want to go and get what would be an important three points."

Blues says his side cannot dwell on the disappointment of slipping down the table and out of the race for a place in the top four.

He said: "I think if we can perform well in these last three games we could finish as high as fifth.

"We need to try and brush off what has happened in the last few weeks and treat these last three matches like a mini-league of its own, that would be a good way to look at it.

"We're aware of the situation behind us and we know that we need to get a win first and foremost."
