MORTON beat Austrian Third Division club Salzburg Sport Club 1914 8-1 in their second match in the pre-season build-up in Austria.
Having lost 6-1 to Slovan Bratislava on Thursday, this was an excellent morale-booster.
Goalscorers for Morton were Ryan McGuffie (4), Brian Wake (2), Brian Graham from the penalty spot ond Stevie Masterton.
Morton were three up at half-time and dominated their opponents.
The starting line-up for Morton was Cuthbert, Walker, Greacen, McManus, Paartalu, Masterton, MacFarlane, McGuffie, Wake, Weatherson, McAlister. Subs: Stewart, Graham, Monti, Strachan, Finlayson.
The team returned home yesterday after what has been a very worthwhile trip to an excellent training facility.
