The Balmoor outfit are out of the play-off picture, both in terms of promotion and relegation, and so have nothing to play for on Saturday.
However, Ton skipper MacDonald knows former Dundee team-mates Nicky Riley and Cammy Kerr, who is on loan with the Blue Toon, have far too much professional pride to go through the motions.
He told the Tele: “Last week was a massive win and we’ve got it all to do on Saturday now.
“I know a few boys who play with Peterhead and I’m sure they’ll be down here and not want a party.
“I was at Dundee with Nicky Riley and Cammy Kerr last year, and they’ll definitely not want us partying after playing them so they’ll be doing their utmost.
“And I think Jim McInally will want to do well coming back to an old club where sometimes the fans gave him a bit of a hard time.” The 34-year-old player-coach is fired up for the game and says he is hoping for a great occasion in front of a large home support.
He added: “We just need to work hard for each other as a team and that’s when things fall into place and you hopefully get the wee rub of the green.
“I can’t wait. The bigger the crowd the better for us — I can’t see Peterhead having more than 30 or 40 fans — so here’s hoping for a good turnout.”
