Lamie stepped up and took charge of the music at Cappielow following the departure of fellow defender Sean Crighton.

The 22-year-old has received stick from team-mates for his performance so far but says he is ready to make his mark with his choice of tunes this evening.

He told the Tele: “I’m in charge of the music this year. I was self appointed but everybody has went with it.

“I took it upon myself to stick a few beats on at training. After Sean Crighton left somebody had to step up to the plate.

“Some of the boys were a bit cautious, a wee bit embarrassed, so I took the initiative and just went for it.

“Was Sean a hard act to follow? Well, his was standard, Safety Sam stuff. I’ve chucked in a few obscure tracks.

“I still need suitable speakers to produce my tunes — but the tunes are there! I’ve been getting mixed reviews.

“It’s mostly been old school stuff with a wee bit of dance chucked in. A few boys were impressed, a few weren’t, especially when I threw in a few rap songs.

“But I’m getting there. I’ve added a few tunes to the playlist ahead of the game tonight to get the boys up for it. I’m hoping it will go down well — and if we get a result I’ll be keeping it.” Ricki's top five - How Deep Is Your Love — Calvin Harris (“That’s the big one just now.”) Concrete Angel — Gareth Emery (“A GBX classic.”) Sometimes — Enzo Siffredi (“That’s a very catchy number recommended by big Denny Johnstone.”) Always — MK ft. Route 94 (“A personal favourite and a bit of a crowd pleaser.”) Whatever You Like — T.I.

(“A wee bit of R & B to mix it up.”) Meanwhile, Morton have advised supporters that turnstiles will be open from 6.30pm tonight and to head along early. With the crowd expected to be higher than usual, there will also be two ticket-only gates for entry to the terracing.
