Morton were drawn at home to Premiership outfit St Johnstone, avoiding Scottish champions Celtic, Hearts, Dundee United, Ross County, Inverness Caley Thistle and fellow second-tier side Hibs.

Defender O’Ware didn’t have any particular preference when it came to the actual opponent other than keeping his fingers crossed they would be hosting them at the Greenock ground.

He told the Tele: “I was just looking for anybody at home, just hoping for someone at Cappielow, and we got that.

“But it’s going to be a hard game. St Johnstone have a really good squad and a good manager in Tommy Wright.

“They are on a good run just now and are on the back of a couple of good victories, including beating Rangers in the last round.”
