A teenage Tidser made his Ton debut at Kirkcaldy in a 2-1 win back in January 2010, but then lost to a Gregory Tade goal in the 84th minute the following season.

In 2011, the midfielder helped the Cappielow club fight back from 2-0 down to secure a 2-2 draw through a last-minute Peter Weatherson leveller.

He was part of the Ton team that triumphed 2-1 in a memorable 2012 Scottish Cup tie after trailing at half-time — before losing 5-0 at the same venue in the league two months later.

In his final season before departing for Rotherham, he played in a thrilling 3-3 draw and scored a heart-breaking own goal in a 2-1 defeat as Ton slipped off the pace in the title race.

Tidser experienced another low at the weekend when Raith skipper Jason Thomson netted deep into added time to leave Ton empty-handed.

According to the 25-year-old, this reverse was particularly painful because he felt that they deserved a draw for their efforts.

And that’s why he says the whole team must learn to cut out the sloppy goals they are conceding or continue to drop points in matches they should be taking more from.

He told the Tele: “We’re hurting. In fairness, I think we deserved a point. We didn’t create too many chances but neither did they.

“It was horrible to lose that way, conceding a goal in the very last minute, and we’re gutted because it is not an easy place to come to.

“I’ve been here 100 times and I know what they are like. They don’t really play football — that’s not me being disrespectful, I think the Raith players would tell you that themselves.

“I’ve been coming here since 2009-10 — I made my Morton debut here — I’ve been here when we’ve lost right at the end, I scored an own goal here, won here, lost here … “I know what it’s like and I told the lads before the game: ‘It’s not going to be easy here. We need to be up for it because they will come at us.’ “We knew what Raith were going to do: they were going to hit [Jon] Daly, and that’s what’s got them points.

“We saw that from the first minute, and in fairness I felt we dealt with them quite well, so on our behalf it’s very sloppy [to concede the goals we did]. “Not anybody in particular, because I don’t like picking out individuals. Collectively, as a team, we know we should do better.

“The first goal and the second goal are pretty similar, and I think that makes it even worse. The manager made his point about [it] after the game.

“It’s got to sink into us, each and every one of us, because it’s sloppy goals and we’re conceding right on half-time and right on full-time. [That’s about] concentration.” The winning goal came in the fourth minute of stoppage time but the midfielder says there is no issue with that because Bobby Madden made them aware how long he would add on.

Tidser added: “We’ve no complaints with the time. Bobby Madden joked with me saying: ‘How many minutes you wanting added on, Tids?’ Just having a bit of fun.

“It was 1-1 and I said ‘none!’. He laughed and said something about there being four minutes and that there was three to go. So we knew.

“Personally, I can’t take much away from this because we lost the game; what we have to do now is regroup and go again for next week.”
