NORMAL service has resumed on the CalMac ferry route serving Inverclyde and Bute.
The operator announced yesterday that the MV Bute - which runs between Wemyss Bay and Rothesay - had been withdrawn from service due to a 'technical issue' affecting the forward main engine.
Following further investigations, CalMac confirmed this morning that the problem had been resolved and the usual two vessel timetable has been reinstated.

The other ferry on the route, MV Argyle, had been operating a single vessel timetable on Tuesday, while some sailings were cancelled on Wednesday morning before the update.
