A NEW team of industry experts have been appointed to senior roles at a resort near Inverclyde which was recently saved by a £15m investment.
Mar Hall in Bishopton had fallen into administration before being acquired by Dubai-based Dutco Group in December last year.
The hotel is now being ‘transformed’ in a project led by investment and asset management firm Align Partners.
With a multi-million pound renovation now underway, a string of senior appointments have been made at the luxury five-star resort.
Executive head chef Tony Tapia joins the hotel with a wealth of experience, having worked alongside industry icons such as Rick Stein and Michel Roux Jr.
Known for his creativity, management say Tony will ‘bring new life’ to Mar Hall’s menus and seek to ‘transform’ its food offering.
He will be joined by new head pastry chef Louise Campbell, who has refined her skills during a 30-year career in the industry.
Louise worked at Mar Hall more than a decade ago and was inspired to return as a result of the ongoing investment at the resort.
Award-winning head concierge Alan McDougall has also joined the team at the resort.
He currently holds the role of chairman of the Society of The Golden Keys of Great Britain and the Commonwealth – a professional association of hotel concierges with around 3,000 members working across 80 countries.
Mar Hall is also investing in its 18-hole golf course with the appointment of head greenkeeper Andrew Eckford and head of golf Christopher McQueen.

Andrew has 13 years of experience in greenkeeping at Cameron House.
A professional golfer, Christopher joins after gaining extensive experience at Gleddoch Resort and Spa in Ingliston and Trump Turnberry in Ayrshire.
Investors have also created a new dedicated wedding and events team which will be led by commercial manager Fiona Gallagher, who has been promoted from within the business.
David Webster, operations directory at Align Partners, said: “While we seek planning permission to achieve the complete redevelopment across the resort, we are significantly investing in both our product and our people to ensure the guest experience is elevated to a five-star luxury hospitality experience.
“From culinary and events to golf and activities, we have appointed some of the most renowned names within their respective fields to help us deliver our vision for Mar Hall as a world-class destination resort, and we are incredibly excited for guests to experience the new proposition.”
